Consider Paramore not broken up and singer Hayley Williams not pregnant. The band, nominated last year for the “Best New Artist” Grammy, was “refreshed and vibrant” as they kicked off a 20-show tour opening for Jimmy Eat World.
[T]hey buzzsawed through their big, hooky catalog of songs, particularly blowing up on “Born for This,” “crushcrushcrush” and “For a Pessimist, I’m Pretty Optimistic.” A third axeman bolstered the guitar assaults unleashed during regular headbanging sessions. To their cameraphone-waving fans, the big payoff was closer “Misery Business,” the song with its own T-shirt.
In February, Paramore cancelled a portion of their European tour and announced that they’d be taking (what turned out to be a very short-lived) break from each other due to “internal issues.”
