Just weeks after firing lead singer Scott Weiland, Velvet Revolver’s search for a new lead singer is going so poorly that guitarist Slash says the band is considering running a web contest to find one.
Just after ousting Weiland, Slash said, ““We actually worked with a guy, I won’t mention his name, before we left to go to the U.K. and there just wasn’t enough (time) to break him in, so we’re gonna work with him again some more.”
But that apparently didn’t work out. And now, with a resurgent Stone Temple Pilots featuring Weiland that threatens to show-up Velvet Revolver, the band is scrambling to use every technique at their disposal to replace him.
The band is actually talking about actually building a website (and) doing some auditions via that…We’re at that point of just listening to different things… It’s one of those kind of situations where you can’t really explain it to anybody because you’ll know it when you hear it.
